Description
Yazz - Official British Music Industry Award
This is a genuine BPI British music industry Double Platinum Disc Award from 1988 for 600,000 sales of Yazz’s album, ‘Wanted’. This award is in an aluminium frame measuring 24x20 inches (63x51cms). Unfortunately, both discs are scratched, and a few small patches of the silver finish has been worn away as the result of the original glass being broken (which has since been replaced). The award could be restored reasonably easily (please ask me for advice), or simply displayed, as it’s still a very impressive looking award once it’s hanging on the wall.
The plaque mounted below the records includes the BPI logo and the following text:

BPI (British Phonographic Industry) awards are the British equivalent of American RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awards, and are only presented to artists, producers, record companies and others in the music industry that contributed to the success of a record (in this case, the industry employee who was responsible for promoting the record). This is an official music industry award and should not be confused with any kind of replica or ‘limited edition’ discs that are sold direct to the public.
This was the album that included the Coldcut produced classic, ‘The Only Way Is Up’, so this is a great opportunity to own an incredibly rare piece of 1980s memorabilia.

Shipping Info
The item can be collected in person, or shipped for £10 (including insurance) within the UK.
If you are outside the UK, then please contact me to discuss shipping options. If necessary the glass could be removed for shipping to reduce the weight, or even replaced with plexiglass (the cost would be around £20). As a rough idea, the shipping cost will probably be £25-£75 depending on destination.
Payment Info
Preferred payment is by cheque or bankers draft in UK Pounds. Paypal will also be accepted, however, if you have an unconfirmed address, then you will need to contact me before placing your bid. Cash can also be accepted, but only if the item is personally collected.
Payment should be received within 10 days of the auction end. The item will then be shipped within 5 days of receiving payment.
