Description
This is a very rare red vinyl copy of the late, great Poly Styrene and X-Ray Spex single "Highly Inflammable/Warrior In Woolworth's" released in March 1979 on EMI Records INT 583.
Both the vinyl and the picture sleeve cover are in excellent condition.
X-Ray Spex was a British punk band formed by lead singer Poly Styrene after seeing the Sex Pistols in 1976. Like many other early UK punk performers, she was galvanized by the Pistols' "If we can do it, so can you" philosophy that drove the punk movement to form her own group.
Poly Styrene's clever, witty song titles and clever lyrics were inspired by anti-consumerism and life in a disposable society.
"Highly Inflammable" was the last of five singles released by X-Ray Spex between 1977 and 1979. Sadly Poly Styrene died of breast cancer in 2011, age 53.
