For sale is the ULTRA RARE custom/private press 1979 LP "Sold Out To Jesus" by Sold Out on their custom label Sold Out Records, catalog #RSR 1042. Ken Scott's "Archivist" includes their 2nd project "Broken Pieces" but this one's not mentioned. It's definitely the same group from North Carolina which draws comparisons to Phoenix Sunshine, Dove and even RFD! All original material written by members David Gillespie and Fritz Young. Side One is the mellower set with guitar/bass/vocal for with that laid back pastoral rural/folk rock sound. "Something's Gotta Change" closes our the side with added organ and female vocalist Joy Wyatt to hint at what's to come when you flip the record. Side Two kicks in with full band including nice banjo work on the title cut opener. Low production quality for a basement/primitive sound that makes it even more appealing. If you have their other project, this one's a must have for your collection! Songs include:
