For sale is the RARE 1976 LP "Filled With The Holy Spirit" by Arthur R. Wise, Jr. on Ludwig Sound Records, catalog #lPS-278. Whatever you do, DO NOT let the cover photo of this gem fool you, it's a hauntingly beautiful slab of pastoral Jesus Music. As soon as you put the needle down on side one, you sense this one is special and indeed it is. Not listed in Ken Scott's "Archivist" but I hope he's paying attention because it belongs in his next volume! It has all the elements any fan of early Jesus Music loves to hear. Musically, I'll compare it to John Fischer's early period of work ("Cold Cathedral" and "Have You Seen Jesus My Lord") and perhaps a little Justyn Rees "How Can I Tell Them" as well. The album also features haunting female background vocals (Sarah & The Amen Sisters). Excellent musicianship/good production and all original material with deep lyrics make this a solid project start to finish. Plenty of noodling around on lead and acoustic guitar, nice organ work and my favorite element, lilting flute. Better grab this one before I decide to add it to my own small collection!! I promise, I'm not hyping this one and at the price I've listed it, I may be giving it away, but someone's going be happy with this one OR I'll gladly accept a return! Songs include:
