Scarce MINT 1973 UK FIRST PRESSING 8-track vinyl LP on the black MCA label, housed in the original gatefold picture sleeve complete with the original double-sided 30" x 20" poster with lyrics on reverse, and the original inner sleeve. The vinyl and poster are in MINT condition and the picture sleeve and inner sleeve, which only show the general signs of age, are in EXCELLENT condition. A very nice copy of this essential album!
Highly desirable for its 1L/1L first pressing matrices and Mint condition vinyl and increasingly difficult to find in good condition, this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to add this superb rarity to your collection at an extremely advantageous price.

This is the extremely rare real thing: a genuine Mint/Ex condition UK first pressing. The record and poster are in Mint condition (the poster was unfolded for the first time ever today) while the cover and inner sleeve are in excellent condition for 40 years of age, without any major defects like scratches, tears, creases, stickers, writing, dog ears, stains or the like. See pics. All items are the genuine originals bought together by me in 1973 not reprints or replacements. The LP is the original UK 1973 stereo LP, which was only played occasionally on top-end audiophile equipment and lovingly cared for.

Wishbone Four is the fourth studio album by British rock band Wishbone Ash released in 1973. It was a departure from their previous album, Argus in that it lacked that recording's overall cohesion, atmosphere and the loose conceptual framework of a stately, pastoral and warring medieval England. Containing only hints of the extended twin-lead guitar harmonies, Wishbone Fours' stylistic variety found its footing in acoustic folk elements in half of the eight song set ("Ballad of the Beacon", "Everybody Needs a Friend", "Sorrel" and "Sing Out the Song"), two aggressive and melodic starters on each side of the vinyl release (Side 1: So Many Things to Say" and Side 2: "Doctor") , and the band's first use of horns on the semi-autobiographical "rave-up" touring song "No Easy Road".

This may be your only ONCE IN A LIFETIME chance to own this rare piece of rock history in this condition.

Wishbone Four is an offering I consider to be among the band's "classics". If ever there was an album in search for an identity this is it. As it has already been said, there were some changes in sound after "Argus" but most of the songs here are really excellent. "So Many Things To Say" is a belting rocker that starts the album. The slide guitar is one of the noticeable differences to their first three albums, but it is a memorable piece and the playing is top notch. At least this release gives us plenty of variety. The gentle folky ballad "Ballad of the Beacon" follows and it is one of the band's finest songs, with superb guitar playing throughout. Perhaps the rock and rolling "No Easy Road" doesn't fit in to the collection as well but it is hardly a bad one. Besides, there is plenty more quality to make up for it, such as the beautiful, sorrowful "Everybody Needs a Friend" and the stunning "Sorrel" which arguably takes the honours for musical craftsmanship, displaying what old fans loved about Wishbone Ash, their folky vocal harmonies as well as harmonizing guitar riffs. "Rock And Roll Widow" signs off the album. Love this one too. It's a somewhat eerie rocker with more slide guitar. Great album.

A fantastic time warp example of this rarity in amazing condition, a true investment grade item - get it while you can!
