Description

An original very 1st press of Pilgrimage from Sep-1971. There were a lot of label design changes in this period so don't get mislead on the proper 1st press. The pink/orange dog-bone design is 1st press for Pilgrimage. Matrix 1L/2L - very 1st cut. This copy also comes from within the first few thousand copies pressed under the Buckingham sequence. Stampers 1A/1U. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original cover printed by Robert Stace. Also included is the original blue and white inner sleeve dated to '5-71'..a few months prior to 1st release. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In super condition and has only seen the very very lightest use. Under close inspection I couldn't make out more than a couple of ultra-fine marks..nothing remotely troublesome. Take a look at those label shots...unbelievable! A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are perfectly quiet and the audio comes across with PERFECT clarity. And YOU will need this on this release..any background on those quiet passages will start to detract from the listening experience. Don't short change yourself with a potential iffy copy. BUY the copy that will impress and deliver this album to a top-level standard. And this copy is the best one available on EBAY...it even betters the other very fine copy I have on offer at the moment. Even the slow-build passages [e.g. ALONE] play perfectly clean. Lullaby is superb too and that's a really tricky one... The audio quality is absolutely superb from this Decca pressed heavy-set slab of vinyl. You might detect a couple of isolated crackles in a couple of moments per side, but in reality, this is about as good as it is humanly possible to achieve/find. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) For whatever reason Wishbone covers seem to be quite difficult to find in truly top-level condition. This example most certainly defies all the odds and has arrived into 2020 looking in extremely rude health. No kidding - the front and back surfaces look and feel new. They are perfectly flat and totally smooth without creasing - needless to say this is extremely unusual. The interior is absolutely perfect - flat and clean and unaged. Edge wear is almost undetectable and SERIOUSLY that is hard to find. The spine is just stunning - never seen one like that.  There's no compression with all text perfectly clear, almost almost no wear at all. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity. Good luck finding another one like this>>>!
