Description

Wire had been a band since 1976, but officially since 1977. Ever since then they have released records and playing shows, a little era they were called Wir as the drummer left for a while and was replaced by a drummachine. But basically it has been Bruce Gilbert, Colin Newman, Graham Lewis and Robert Gray since the beginning. In the early 2000’s Bruce called it a day and was replaced by several stand in guitarists until about 5 years ago the new permanent guitarist was found in the name of Matthew Simms.

Musically they have always changed their direction but always remained Wire in the sense that particular ingredients could always be defined. Their latest set contains more heavy stuff and at parts could almost be called dronemusic. Live very noisy and chaotic, on record very controlled, Wire has always chosen to have those two separated from each other. Live is Live and Recordings are recordings.

Wire gave us 5 copies of their new self titled record that are each signed by all 4 members and 4 posters signed by all members and 1 signed test pressing with special artwork done by Graham Lewis. So we sell those in sets, 4 times a record and a silkscreen poster, 1 time a record and test pressing. This week we have the record with Matthew Simms as the main signature and a signed poster. Wire has a real hardcore fanbase, so we set this at a minimum price of 30 euro.

For whoever is lucky enough to buy this please be aware that we are collecting money for a musical project as explained underneath. We try to do this with as little costs as possible. For people within the eurozone this means paying by bank incurs the least costs. Paypal is subtracting about 7-8% of what you pay and when we put it from PayPal in our bankaccount, it is costing us another almost 5%. So ebay and paypal costs together is close to 25%. So please lets talk about payment before paying.
Thanks!
All kids should play is just a name. It represents a few people and organisations who try to send a container with musical equipment to Tanzania and then later in the year invite a few musicians to come and host a few workshops with children and mentally handicapped people. It will take place in a little village called Mambo, Lushoto in the Usambara mountains. There is already an organisation who have been there permanently for 6 years called MamboViewPoint (www.mamboviewpoint.org <http://ww.mamboviewpoint.org/>). They built a lodge and with that basis they do all kinds of development projects in the field of education, healthcare, water, roads and bridges, farming and much more. One of the early guests of the lodge was Gijs, a dutch guy who fell in love with the area and the views that are one of a kind. Within two days he committed to start a circus activity with children of the village (1500 out of the 5000 villagers are primary school kids). Almost 5 years later this project has become pretty successful, does performances in the lodge, the village and this january went on tour for the first time and did 7 shows in 3 days (and the kids got to see the sea for the first time in their lives). As it became so successful the idea was to extend the program with other arty forms and music was the first obvious thing that came to mind. Gijs runs a music equipment company in Holland called Smoeff and rents gear to mostly North American and Australian bands that come and tour Europe. Every year about 200 bands are playing equipment supplied by Smoeff. Already for a few years Smoeff is donating about 4000-5000 for various projects in Mambo. To finance sending a container full of equipment to Tanzania we ask a lot of the bands that Smoeff works with to donate 5 records and sign them. Then we sell them on eBay.de one by one. All the proceeds minus eBay/PayPal expenses goes in the fund. We think we need about 5000 euro. The musicians who come and do the project at the end of the year will not be paid out of this fund. They will finance their own flights, transportation, food and lodging….
