Description
This record was bequeathed to me by my cousin, the film director, Clive Donner. He probably bought it for research purposes. Probably only played once or twice, and then stored. WILLIAM BURROUGHS CALL ME BURROUGHS Ultra Rare First Original French Pressing (Later Re-Issued on ESP) Edited by the English Bookshop 42, Rue de Seine, Paris I've Never Seen One For Sale----Ever!!!!! William Burroughs reads excerpts from Naked Lunch and Nova Express. Lines Notes by Emmett Williams and Jean- Jacques Lebel.
These were the FIRST Formal Releaseof William S. Burroughs' readings .
Call Me Burroughs was originally released by Gait Froge through her English Bookshop in Paris during the summer of 1965, subsequently released internationally through ESP records in 1966.
This is the first time that the public had the chance to hear his voice, and these recordings provide fine examples of Burroughs' dry and emotionless midwestern drawl. They featured excerpts from his novels Naked Lunch, The Soft Machine and Nova Express, recorded and edited by Ian Sommerville in Paris during 1965. CONDITION LP - Near Mint (Lp is glossy black . Plays well with minimal surface noise and pops.) LABEL - Pristine. COVER - VG/++/NM
