I am selling a unique set of three White Stripes posters designed by band artist Rob Jones.
They form part of the 2005 North American tour and were purchased as part of a 11-poster set - only 50 made available worldwide.
All three silk screen posters are signed and numbered 112/192 ever printed by the artist Rob Jones - who designs all the posters. Visit animalrummy.com for all of his work including these sold out rare pieces of artwork that are becoming more and more collectible. They all measure approx. 23.5 x 34 inches.
These posters are the biggest and best from the North America set and have added significance seeing as Jack and Meg are from Detroit. It is hard to do the posters justice in words but they really are stunning.
Rob Jones designed the posters using old postcards of Detroit, and said on his website: "I'd like to express thanks to Jack and Meg for letting me make posters for another tour. I tried really hard to improve on my previous efforts, and I hope on some level I was successful. I also want to thank Amber and John for their help, and I'm especially obliged to all those who helped me with the Detroit posters by providing me with antique postcards. On this front, I am especially indebted to Ben Blackwell who really went over the top in providing me with postcard images of Detroit during it's heyday including his beautiful copy of the Hotel Yorba card."
Dates at the Masonic Temble, Detroit MI gigs were:
September 30, 2005 with M Ward (112/192)
October 1, 2005 with Brendan Benson (112/192)
October 2, 2005 with the Greenhornes (112/192)
The Oct 2 poster is particularly special, being printed on a 5 color screenprint. Rob Jones says on his site: "Red, white screened at 83% opacity for lights and text, black, white screened at 65% opacity for first set of spotlights, white screened again at 65% opacity for second set of spotlights."
The Oct 1 is also really cool and has Jack and Meg stood at the top of the steps in the pose from the cover of the Elephant album.
Posters have been stored flat since buying them and are in mint condition (pictures taken on my phone so not great quality - sorry). Will post extremely carefully in a strong tube to the successful bidder within 3 days of payment.
This is your one and only chance to get a set of all three posters from Detroit - the home of the White Stripes - all with the same number and signature by Rob Jones. Never before seen on eBay as a set.
Shipping will cost £10 special delivery to UK due to the high value of the posters. I will charge £15 to post to America.
