Description
Up for auction is the amazing lost album from Vernon Wray, "Wasted." Originally a private press run (on Vernon's Vermillion label) of 1000 in 1972, it was only sold at his weekly gigs in Tuscon, Arizona. Luckily, a copy of this forgotten masterpiece fell into the hands of the fine folks at Sebastian Speaks Records who had the good sense to expertly remaster (courtesy of the maestros at Peerless) and reissue this overlooked gem. With ten tracks total, the lp is a blissful blast of proto country rock, partly due to the guitar playing of his brother, legendary rockabilly pioneer Link Wray (who's credited with arrangements, along with third brother Doug). And clocking in at thirty-eight years old, it'll be one of the best new things you'll hear all year. True to the original, only 1000 more were pressed so don't pass up your chance- they won't last very long.
