Description
The classic Special Presentation Set of Georg Solti & The Vienna Philharmonic's recordings of the complete operas from their 1960s recordings, on Decca. Each disc has its own sleeve and jacket; the set of discs for each opera is in a separate folder; each folder/opera slots into a smart, tough display box. Each folder includes a book with the synopsis and libretto for that opera.
The Set also includes an extra folder of 3 discs and a book. This is an introduction to The Ring, especially the leitmotifs, by Deryck Cooke (5 sides) illustrated with almost 200 music examples. The final side contains the 1968 Solti/Vienna recordings of Siegfried Idyll and Kinderkatechismus.
All the discs are in excellent condition (no visible marks) and the books, box, folders and sleeves are also in excellent condition. In fact, only Rheingold and Cooke's introduction have ever been played (once)!
The full box weighs in at almost 10 Kgs (20 lbs) and measures 34 x 34 x 17.5 cms (approx 13.5 x 13.5 x 7 inches).
The Set will be dispatched as soon as payment is received (Paypal) or cash can be accepted if it is collected by the purchaser.
NOTE REGARDING P&P
For a recording, this is a bulky item and Parcelforce Express 24 costs £11.99 for UK delivery (eBay discounted price); overseas delivery charges can be quite high so we are willing to discuss options with the purchaser. We will charge postage at cost but will not charge for packing.
