Description

Decca and Sir Georg Solti's classic recording of Wagner's Opera Cycle Der Ring Des Nibelungen. This is a rare gothic textured black and gold wooden box set, bought new in the 1970s, containing five pull-out cases, one for each individual opera, plus one for the 3 LP introduction to the work. This is a very serious looking bit of vinyl!
These LPs have been lovingly played and looked after from new. The discs (19 in total) are all in excellent condition, with no visible finger marks and very low audible vinyl crackle, if none at all. Some do not look like they have been played at all. There are no visible scratches, except for 2 small ones, one at the start of LP2 of Siegfried, and one on side 2 of LP 1 of Gotterdammerung, both of which make a small audible pop. The exterior of the box set is in good condition, and un marked, although there is a small crack on the top of the box which is hardly noticable. The edges of some of the pull out cases are slightly frayed and scuffed. Some of the individual LP sleeves have come apart at the seams, but there are spare colour coded empty sleaves in the cases for each opera! Apart from this, the sleeves are un marked, un creased and as new.
My father owned this, and it fascinated me when I was a child. Unfortunately I have no room for it, and it's all on my CD player now anyway, so it's time to part with it.

I will post, but would rather not. It's very heavy, so I can't give an accurate postage price right now, but I should think it will be quite a lot. Can pay cash on collection from London N1.
Please see my other Wagner LPs I am selling.
