WESTERN EDITION -- "Live? Well .. Almost" -- rare, original 1975 U.S. private press album. Almost completely unknown and very primitive rural rock record (with some nice Tex-Mex overtones to 1 or 2 songs). This was recorded live at the Hi Ho Club in Boise, Idaho in July '75 and the sound quality is extremely raw and echoey (THOUGH CLEAR) which adds to the DIY flavor. Highlights are the MOODY, MELANCHOLIC, PSYCHY take on Bobby Goldsboro's "California Wine", a fine version with FUNKY GUITAR of Andy Kim's "Rock Me Gently" and a SIR DOUGLAS QUINTET-sounding version of Neil Diamond's "Porcupine Pie". The sparce moody ballad "Grow Old With You" is the only original composition, written by Ron Mason. Disturbing front cover with 3 band members about to be lynched underscoreshome-made atmosphere. Very, very obscure; have never seen another copy of this one. Other tracks: Brown Eyed Handsome Man, Before the Next Tear Drop Falls, Neil Diamond's Play Me, Auctioneer, Kansas City.
