This classic of privately produced soul-jazz-funk features several stand-out tracks that have filtered through the collective culture over the last 35+ years. Included here are the much-sampled "Bananas," the topical "Watergate--Don't Bug Me!" and "Soul Sisters;" the spiritually-tinged "I Am," with recitation by Charlette Cook; and "Feeling Mellow," famously covered by the Fatback Band, but heard here in its glorious original conception. Long sought, sampled, coveted and reissued--here is the real deal in great playable condition!
Weldon Irvine, piano, electric piano, organ, melodica and vocals. Other personnel include: George Cables, electric piano; Alex Blake, electric bass; Jimmy Owens, trumpet; Lenny White, drums; Clint Houston, bass.

Visual condition of LP is VG++ [light play and nice gloss, a faint paper scuff or two, and one tracking mark not affecting play] record plays extremely well with virtually no surface noise; Condition of cover is VG, no fraying, splitting, but some yellowing of the left margin of the back cover and moderate ringwear on front cover. Over-all, a very nice copy of a hard-to-find classic!
