Description
FOR COLLECTORS ONLY. This is among the last of the original Van Gelder microgroove (mono) pressings. Manufactured by Plastylite in early 1966 before Blue Note was purchased by Liberty Records. It has the hand written matrix number and the Van Gelder stamp in the dead wax as shown in the photo. It does not have the famous Plastylite "P" or ear (as some call it). It also has the 43 West 61st address.
It has the four digit catalog number indicating that is mono (4000 series) # 4219. The disc has very few marks or scratches. The most noticeable is on side 1, track 1, see photo. Because of this I rate the condition as (VG+). It could possibly pass as (NM) but I'm more comfortable with (VG+).
The cover has minimal wear, mostly at the top which has been neatly taped. Recording date is hand written on back cover.
