Waylon Jennings
"Waylon Jennings at JD's" LP (1964)
Sounds Ltd Records (LP-1001)
Privately pressed in an edition of 500 in 1964 (there were another 500 pressed on the Bat label) - this is the first and rarest from the king of the outlaws. Back cover says it was produced by the owners of JD's, an Arizona club where Waylon had a regular gig at the time, and Waylon himself. Recorded in the studios of Audio Recorders, Phoenix, AZ, 1964.
This really is a cool record.
Side 1: Crying, Sally was a Good Old Girl, Burning Memories, Big Mamou, Money, Don't Think Twice
Side 2: 1. Dream Baby, It's so Easy, Lorena, Love's Gonna Live Here, Abilene, White Lightning
Cover is Near Mint, still in shrink wrap with sharp corners and edges. A small crease on the lower left side, and a hint of ringwear on the back. Amazing condition!
Album is NM, super glossy with no marks. Label is orange with silver ink.

On Mar-16-07 at 14:15:50 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE: Evidently a European bootleg of this record has surfaced - I want to be clear that this is NOT the bootleg. The bootleg is pressed on flimsy, dynaflex-like vinyl. In the runoff groove the numbers are written with European "1"s. These appear to be the only two distinguishing factors. We got this copy from a reputable East Coast dealer. It is pressed on thick black vinyl consistent with a 1964-1965 release. The runoff groove reads: "JD 1001 S-1" and "JD 1001 S-2." The "1s" are single vertical marks, not the european "1s" that look a little like upside down V's. There is also an additional marking in the runoff groove on both sides that reads "SJW-6525". I tried to take a picture of this, but couldn't get it to come out with our digital camera - sorry. If you are interested in finding more info on the bootleg - check the forums at recordcollectorsguild.org. Once again - the copy we have up for auction here is the ORIGINAL on Sounds Ltd. in amazing NEAR MINT condition.
