WILLIAM WALTON
FACADE
AN INSTRUMENTAL SUITE IN THE ORIGINAL SCORING
CHICAGO PRO MUSICA
An oddity? I've seen a couple of these around. A cover marked RR-17 and the LP marked RR-16. Also this one is 33-1/3 RPM where many others are 45 RPM. Otherwise vinyl is in NM condition, with "LAST" preservative. I probably only played it once or twice about 20 years ago, put "LAST" SOL then stored it. I understand some people do not like LAST, but:
"As for LAST Preservative leaving a sonic signature on the record, some people claim they can hear a detrimental difference, but truthfully, I cannot. Products like Gruve Glide I have never used, and I am unsure , and personally doubt if it truly approaches the quality of LAST Record Preservative."
- "I love the Last products! Been using them for years without no problems. I use the power cleaner, preservative and the stylus cleaner and treatment. They are a bit expensive, but worth it, IMHO."
- "While I am on the subject, let me enthusiastically recommend the LAST products. Now that records are rarities, preservation is more important than ever. The LAST products work, and they improve the sound too. This was all covered years ago in TAS. Tam Henderson reviewed LAST enthusiastically in Issue 20 and Dave Wilson verified the improvements from Stylast by measurements in Issue 32. It's still true, and the LAST people are still here. These are indispensable products for the vinyl listener."
Larry Archibald, Stereophile, Vol 5 No 3, Spring 1982
- "There is no question though about LAST [Record Preservative]'s ability to improve the sound of discs; as JGH described it, the sound becomes less mechanical and more like original tape--evidence enough that something did change when LAST was applied."
