LP : Walter Strerath Trio ?– Fly To Brazil

Original first German pressing from 1975 on FLY RECORD, FLY 0751. Beautiful gatefold-cover. Recorded in Darmstadt, Jan. 5 and 12, 1975. This is a private pressing, “Fly To Brazil” is the only release ever made on the FLY label. Not many copies of the record have been pressed, it was mainly sold during concerts. The soundquality is impressing, due to high quality pressing made by PALLAS. Linernotes in English and German inside the gatefold-sleeve. The trio performs awesome bossa-jazz on 5 self-penned tunes plus 4 standards, the sound reminds of mid-60ies to early 70ies SABA/MPS piano-trio recordings like the 1965 “Elsie Bianchi/The Sweetest Sound”, but it's also comparable to other European bossa-jazz trios like the 1970 French “Le Trio Camara”. The rhythm grooves with a great flow and W.Strerath's playing is tasteful, swinging and inspired.

Condition: the record looks mint- in daylight & in normal artificial light, it looks mint-- to ex++ under a very strong halogen lamp ( very few very tiny superficial sleeve-lines). I've listened carefully to the complete record on my REGA PLANAR 9 with EINSTEIN TU 3 MC cartridge and on my LINN AXIS with DENON MC: it plays in mint- all of the time, absolutely top.

The gatefold-cover is made of pretty thin paper and is fairly sensitive, happily it shows just little shelfwear, all seams/spine are intact with only slight rub in a just few parts of the spines ( left = some in the lower quarter, right = only in a few tiny spots) , the seams are nearly completely rub-free, the front is fine except for a tiny few millimeter abrasion in the middle of the right side, the back is fine with just a hint of ringwear in the upper part, the inner of the gatefold-sleeve is absolutely fine; overall ex. Please look at all 12 photos.

Zustand: die LP sieht bei Tageslicht & unter einer normalen Lampe mint- bis mint-- aus, unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe sieht sie mint-- bis ex++ aus ( einige wenige sehr dünne oberflächliche Sleeve-Lines). Ich habe die komplette LP konzentriert sowohl auf meinem REGA PLANAR 3 mit EINSTEIN TU 3 MC System als auch auf meinem LINN AXIS mit DENON MC angehört: sie spielt durchgehend in mint-, absolut top.

Das Klappcover ist aus recht dünnem Papier und deshalb recht empfindlich, es zeigt aber zum Glück nur leichte Abnutzungs-/Lagerungsspuren, beide seitlichen Kanten sind intakt mit nur leichtem Abrieb an einigen wenigen Stellen an beiden Seiten ( linke Seite = etwas im unteren Viertel, rechts = nur an wenigen kleinen Punkten), die obere und untere Kante sind fast komplett frei davon, die Vorderseite ist schön erhalten bis auf eine wenige Millimeter kleine Abschabung in der Mitte auf der rechten Seite, die Rückseite ist ebenfalls schön erhalten mit einem Hauch von Ringwear im oberen Bereich, das Innere des Klappcovers ist absolut schön erhalten; insgesamt in ex. Bitte alle 12 Fotos ansehen.

Alle Platten wurden professionell gereinigt, entweder von mir (Hannl Mikro) oder von den Vorbesitzern (Okki Nokki, Loricraft o.Ä.). Anschließend wurden sie nur wenige Male abgespielt bzw. nur einmal von mir zum Bewerten angehört (komplett oder in Ausschnitten). Optische Bewertung erfolgt in Tageslicht, in normalen Kunstlicht & unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe. Platten kommen mit neuer hochwertiger Innenhülle & in einer Schutzhülle. Bitte beachten: auch prof. gereinigte Platten können einige Staubpartikel haben; “eingefangen” während optischer & akkustischer Bewertung, Fotografieren oder den wenigen Abspielungen der Vorbesitzer.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
