For years I've looked for the absolute best in Jamaican reggae Christmas music. Here's a prime compilation featuring Bullwackies artists and more from the 1980s. Several original compositions join select traditional tunes for a holiday high life celebration. Seasons greetings from Jamaica, America, Japan and beyond are highlighted by "What Does The Lonely Do" and its dub plus an uptempo soul caalypso workout with "Christmas Soca". "Just The Thrill Of Christmas" also rules. Black Santa smiles widely on both sides of the cover insuring mirth-making all 'round. It's yet another disc in my Annual Dread Nights Before Christmas Auctions for the best in seasonal greetings in 2009. These are records which were under consideration for my NATTY & NICE: A REGGAE CHRISTMAS compilation done for Midnight Dread and Rhino Records a few seasons ago. The ORIGINAL Wackie's Tachyon vinyl is in near mint condition with no warp, no skips, no scratch, no surface noise. Cover is STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL SHRINK-WRAP and is also in excellent shape with no seam splits, no disc imprints, no corner bends. Cool and dreadly. Liner notes on back jacket have track listings scrambled a little bit. Here is the actual way the cuts play:
