Vogue picture records were produced by Sav-Way Industries of Detroit, Michigan. The first 10-inch Vogue picture record (catalog number R707) was released to the public in May 1946. Production ceased less than a year later in April 1947, with Sav-Way entering into receivership in August 1947. During this time, approximately seventy-four different 10-inch Vogue picture records were released.
This item is Vogue R708, which is, presumably, the second picture disc issued.  The artwork is beautiful (vintage 1940's pinup style art design) and disc, itself is in very nice condition.  There are some light scuffs and a few scratches.  However, there are no cracks or chips.  There are a couple of rough spots along the edge of the record.  However, they are very slight.  Record has a very nice sheen to it, which allows the artwork to jump out.   The edges of the record have a translucent creamy color.     Normally, with records, I have a very detailed rating system, with the emphasis on sound quality.  I DID play test this record at 4 gm VTF.  While there was audible surface noise, it played all the way through (both sides) without skipping.  But....I don't think audio quality is what makes these records so highly collectible.  The innovative manufacturing process and classic artwork that made these discs such stand-out pieces made them a unique part of recorded media history.
