Description

Vogue Picture Record R710
The Don Large Chorus "Star Dust" & "The Bells of St. Mary's"

Beautiful, 78 speed Vogue Picture Record.  Vibrant colours and one of the best pictures of the series, my favourite!
Very good condition.  No chips.  No cracks.  When held to reflect light it's possible to see some wear including light scratches and scuffs that translate to typical 78 surface noise.  The record plays through with no skips or jumps.  The artwork is gorgeous.

Vogue Picture Discs had a short manufacturing run, 1946 - 1947 by Sav-Way Industries in Detroit.  The company released a series of around 70 picture records after investing considerable effort and finance into developing a high-quality production technique.  The discs are made on an aluminium core that is sandwiched in paper with the artwork on both sides.  This sandwich was then caked in clear vynil and the groove was pressed in.  Vogue Picture Discs were very well manufactured and considered superior in sound to the ordinary shellacs of the era.  More information is available at www.voguepicturerecords.com

Beautiful display  .  Great sound  .  Magic artwork
