Description

You are bidding on 2 1947 Charlie Shavers Quintet sides packaged in a beautiful picture disc. Both Serenade to a Pair of Nylons and Broadjump are uptempo swinging affairs but Charlie and Buddy DeFranko's solos are laced with Bebop quotes representing a nice bridge between the two styles. Very enjoyable listening.
This is a 70 year old record that has been played so you'll have some minor surface pops and crackling throughout but to me it certainly doesn't detract from the listening experience. Both sides play through with no skipping. To a perfectionist though that surface noise might be unacceptable.
Great 1940's artwork with a little cheesecake on Nylons!
