Vinyl Album A Christmas Gift For You Philles Records Blue Label - 1963 NM-/NM-
I am listing two “A Christmas Gift For You from Philles Records” that I would consider the best original copies you will ever find of this album. This listing is for the 1963 Blue/Black label issue.I purchased these separately, from different sellers in eBay’s early years. Both sellers had mentioned in the listing that they had opened the records so they could see which label variation they had. They both carefully cut the seam, so that the covers are still in their original shrink wrap.
When I got them, I replaced the generic plain paper sleeve, with a heavy, plastic lined sleeve. I did not keep the generic paper sleeve.
This copy has been played exactly once. The seller did not play it before selling. I played it one time to make a CD copy. (I used another Philles pressing to get all the settings right before recording. I very intentionally played this one time.) The cover and disc are gorgeous.
I am in mourning that I am selling these, but I am downsizing and all my vinyl has to go.

an eBayer asked: You said the vinyl was played only once. Do you remember any flaws during playing? Or do you still have a recording of your playing (you said you made a CD copy of it?)
I replied: (I rambled so this is the more succinct version) I do have the recording I made - pick a track at random and I'll make a video of the first minute of the track and post it. It did have a bit of background noise between tracks despite being unplayed. I did a basic sweep with a record cleaning brush, so I could have introduced static and not realized it. I don't have a good machine to clean records at the moment, so I haven't touched any of it in terms of cleaning (or playing) in 25 years or so.

I replied: ok - I got it posted - I basically know how to pull a video and a picture into iMovie and hit export, so no tweaking there - same when I made the recording - I had just purchase a home cd recorder - not many controls on it - I may have boosted the treble? made a copy and figured I'd make another one later if I didn't like it - but the recorder was junk and got returned a few weeks later and I never got around to making another one - sounds good to me though - I know I should not have played it, but I could not resist making a recording of the first round of vinyl pulled out of the first master plates - figured it would sound exactly as Spector intended - hope the recording give you what you need to evaluate it.
