Description

This is the limited edition Original Master Recording (MFSL-3-150-1, 2, & 3 RCA), 3 LP Boxed Set of music from the 1950’s NBC television series Victory at Sea. The albums are comprised of suites from the score by Richard Rodgers for the NBC Television Production, arranged and conducted by Robert Russell Bennett. Victory at Sea Volume 1 (MFSL 3-150-1A & 1B, RCA Original Master Recording) contains nine selections: The Song of the High Seas, The Pacific Boils Over, Guadalcanal March, D-Day, Hard Work and Horseplay, Theme of the Fast Carriers, Beneath the Southern Cross, Mare Nostrum, and Victory at Sea. The album is in near mint condition and I would say the same for the cover with a great luster and corners. There is one small dent on the front right side about four-fifths (?) of the way down. Victory at Sea Volume 2 (MFSL 3-150-2C & 2D, RCA Original Master Recording) consists of eight selections: Fire on the Water, Danger Down Deep, Mediterranean Mosaic, The Magnetic North, Allies on the March, Voyage Into Fate, Peleliu, and The Sound of Victory. Both the vinyl and jacket are in near mint condition, with no visible defects or flaws. The final volume, Victory at Sea Volume 3 (MFSL 3-150-3E & 3F, RCA Original Master Recording) has seven selections: Rings Around Rabaul, Full Fathom Five, The Turkey Shoot, Ships that pass, The Turning Point, and Symphonic Scenario. The record is in near mint condition and like all the vinyl in this collection, could very well be un-played. I will also rate the jacket at near mint with just a slight dent on the upper left corner (visible in photos). There is also a booklet included that contains linear notes pertaining to all three albums and some stills from film used in the TV series. Like everything else included here, the booklet is also in great shape! It is difficult enough to find all three volumes of this collection, but here we have the audiophile versions, all housed in a beautiful boxed set; and their condition would be difficult to surpass. Good luck!
