THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO lp V-5008 (MONO) 1967 ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING WHITE LABEL, limited first run; most of which rumored to have been given to Andy Warhol and distributed to friends. Possibly as few as 200 made. There is no "DJ samples" sticker on the cover as this was not a radio copy. There is an abrupt change in volume on "Venus in Furs," corrected on later issues. Full banana sticker with the adhesive still holding on, though it is torn in the middle from being partially 'peeled' at some point in its lifetime (see picture). Emerson torso (airbrushed out later) in the background on back cover. Matrix numbers in the dead wax read: "V-5008-S-1 MG-558-REV" and "V-5008-S-2 MG-559"

The condition of the record, on sight, is a G or G- with plenty of light scratching and scuffing + two big scrapes, nothing that seriously affects play... Plays VG- with a little surface noise/crackling. No skips or sticks detected. Cover is G- with some ringwear, shelfwear and spotting from age. 4" seam split at the top of the back-flap of the gatefold cover, and a 1.5" split at the bottom (both starting at the open end). Front-flap is fine. Spine is perfectly legible. "$1.00" is written small in ink on the front cover
