The third volume of the 45 Kings series compiled by Christian McBride aka 45 Ming. This time featuring 12 tracks of breaktastic folkfunk psyche infused rarities.
Maxine Sellers and Estelle Levitt supply two awe inspiring songs of bluesy folk funk. Levitts "All I Dream" has to be one of the outstanding tracks of the album. a superb song writer, she also penned Kenny Rankins classic rare groove "In the Name Of Love". Maxine Sellers was a regular recording artist for Prestige in the 60's / 70's but her odffering here comes form an ultra rare 7inch on 4Star.
John Fich's "Romantic Attitude" follows in the same vein providing a mesmerizing song intially relased on the collectable U.K Beacon label. Featuring a heavy bassline and fugged out feel this track would sit comfortably next to a Jay Dilla production!
We feature two out 'n' out blue eyed future classics in Jimmy Gary Halls "Be That Way " and Mike Harpers "Lay It On Me Baby". The former hails from U.S westcoast and the latter good ol' blighty but both include "class A" break action.

On the more experimental side is a classic library production from Nino Nardini with the much sampled "Frantique" ( check the moog workout on this little gem ) and Enrica's inspired and superbly psychedelic "If I Could". Soul On Delivery and Rainbow Crunch provide the two more uptempo momets.

"Crescent Boogie" is an uplifitng bit of funky pop with disco leanings and bboy breaks to kill for. Whilst "Lookin Back" is a moodier rawer production with heavy beats and hammond grooves to boot. Two wildcards come in the form of Gary Atkinsons uber rare "Wanderin Soul" where country vox meets dirty funk and Lilly's bible bashing left field psychedout funk with "Starin At The Wall".

Last mention but certainly not least is Nino Ferrer's gorgeous heart wrenching ballad and ode to his lover, featuring subtle keys and sublime bass production.
