>Recorded live at the Library of Congress Washington DC 1940. Bela Bartok on Piano! Josef Szigeti on Violin play Sonatas by Bartok, Beethoven and Debussy, 2LP set with excellent reproduction and no damage (like new) .  Although there are other copies available on ebay, getting the deep groove maroon label will prove a bit trickier other than this set I think. Disappointingly for some YES it is pressed in AUSTRALIA, and ya know what ?, No pressing faults, and sounds GREAT.  By the way it warns on the back cover that this is an Historical recording , but not a sound engineering triumph, and even the American and UK pressing covers say that. SO here is a cheapie for ya!! (pressed by ASTOR records australia, the licencee locally for the Vanguard label).

Sound sample is first 4 minutes of Kreutzer which has some milky sweat lines from the plastic inner sleeve, as you can hear no real effect.  The remainder of 9 min sample is other disc, Debussy.

COVER EXC+++++++ HAS previous owner's filing sticker on rear top left cornerunlaminated shiny card cover single pouch houses double lp (UK was Gatefold) mild  rubbing in angled light, NO bends, only the slightest corner wear, NO seam splits,  front has slight rubbing , unlaminated white card not yellowed , see supersize photo's.)

Lp's are VG+ audibly due to engineering of trfr, but visually NM-, downgraded due to static in background suspected from the original 78 recordings. CARE ! Beethoven Kreutzer on side 1 has milky lines (see last photo, immediately to the left of these words.) caused by bonding with the plastic outer sleeves over the last 40+ years, and I detect a bit more background crackle on that side as a result. Other 3 sides quality or sound reproduction is only upset by the low quality original sound engineering and subsequent trfr from 78 originals. A few areas of spots with very faint ticking, otherwise light normal infrequent pops as per normal vinyl reproduction. 

Inner dust jacket is exc  yellowed but no tears or splits,

Opportunities to get such a rare issue, especially in Australia, and in this, great  condition,  at such a low starting price are certainly Rare Indeed.
