Valdo Williams - "New Advanced Jazz" LP (Savoy) [Excellent ️]

Description

My copy of Valdo Williams' New Advanced Jazz, the sole album under his own name and a genuine free jazz obscurity, here on the 1990 Japanese King reissue (KIJJ-2026) from the 'Last Jazz LP' series, faithfully reproducing the original Savoy MG-12188 artwork. Recorded in New York on 20 December 1966, it captures Williams' percussive, fearless piano in a trio with Reggie Johnson on bass and Stu Martin on drums, music that shakes off bebop's chord changes for something looser and wholly its own. This pressing includes the Japanese liner-notes insert. A hard-to-find piece of outsider jazz that plays far bigger than its cult reputation suggests. It will be packed securely in a rigid vinyl LP mailer for safe transit.
