Background -

Ash Ra Tempel (ASHRA) was a German krautrock group of the 1970s, which is an example of cosmic or ambient space rock. The group was originally founded by guitarist Manuel Göttsching, keyboardist/drummer Klaus Schulze, and bassist Hartmut Enke in 1971. All three founding members had previously played together as part of the short-lived group Eruption founded by Conrad Schnitzler. Prior to that Schnitzler and Schulze had worked together in Tangerine Dream.

Ash Ra Tempel has exerted a relatively large influence on later space rock and krautrock bands. The psychedelic bands Acid Mothers Temple and Hash Jar Tempo named themselves in reference to Ash Ra Tempel. The Experimental rock ensemble Al Berkowitz covered Light: look at your sun, from Schwingungen, and featured it on their live album Apprenticeship and attitude (2009). Hungarian psychedelic hardcore, 'shaman punk' band Galloping Coroners was also admitted to be influenced by Ash Ra Tempel in late 70's.

Ashra is a project begun by Manuel Göttsching in 1976, initially to facilitate his solo career although other members were included later on. The band's name is an abbreviation of the name of Gottsching's previous band, Ash Ra Tempel. The name was changed as Gottsching's music became less psychedelic and more oriented towards electronica.

New Age of Earth is an album by Ashra. It was released in 1976 on Isadora Records. Although released under the band's moniker, it is a solo album by Ashra member Manuel Göttsching. New Age of Earth is on the list of the Top 25 Most Influential Ambient Albums of All Time.

The LP is in near mint minus condition! We found that the vinyl looked superb on this vintage LP. There are no significant marks and the LP retains much of the original gloss and sheen - obviously well taken care of! There are NO serious spindle marks on the record labels either. Just beautiful GERMAN made vinyl!

A Short Note About LP GRADING -

Mint = Only used for sealed items. Near Mint = Virtually flawless in every way. Near Mint Minus = Item has some minor imperfections, some audible. Excellent = Item obviously played and enjoyed with some noise. Very Good Plus = Many more imperfections which are noticeable and obtrusive.

For best results, always thoroughly clean your LPs before playing them.

LPs can be audiophile quality pressings (any collector of fine MFSL, half speeds, direct to discs, Japanese/UK pressings etc., can attest to the difference a quality pressing can make to an audio system).

Don't let this rarity slip by!!!
