Description

A FIRST DOG 10 INCH VICTOR MONARCH RECORD NUMBER 802 (3358 )  ANNOUNCED, " SILAS LEACHMAN SINGS COON,COON, COON " . RECORDED DEC 3, 1901 WITH PIANO .Up for bid is the famous ( or infamous ) ragtime song sung by a man who was very popular during the 1890s , silas leachman .  Recording for  the chicago talking machine company from 1893 till about 1900 his victors were his very last recordings and my favorites as many of his victors 1901- 03 were ragtime songs  and said to be self accompanied ( if thats the case he was a great ragtime pianist ) this record plays VG  with some surface noise  

however there is the starting of an edge flake that goes into a couple of grooves but the announcement is all there . recordings by silas leachman when found can go for a lot of money and my starting bid is low for a record for what was in its time a very popular song.
