VENUS JAZZ SUPER LP SAMPLER - Venus-1027 (Promo) - 45RPM Heavy Platter - BEST! - Mint!
If you are unfamiliar with Venus Records from Japan, you have a surefire treat in store, particularly if you are a jazz fan.
This is their SUPER LP SAMPLER, with only four selections, a total of 18 minutes of music counting both sides, but, oh, let me tell you, this music in your listening room is as organic as it gets from vinyl.
Like the Gale records, there is a level of transparency here that is uncanny. A sudden stick on the rim of a drum will turn your head instantly, to exactly where it is located. Tones die off so naturally, the sense of it raises the hair on your arms, you are so captivated by this solid picture of a happening that you really cannot see.
A truly fine example of vinyl audiophile literature, with selections WINTER SONATA, SUMMER NIGHT, DECK THE HALLS, and ALONE TOGETHER, played by some very fine musicians, among them Grady Tate on drums, Eddie Higgins on piano, Jay Leonhart and Ira Coleman on bass.
To be cherished, this one, offered here in a protective sleeve already opened. But, make no mistake, this disc is mint, and has never seen a turntable.
Have at this one...it is very special. (Just watch your VTA, as this is a hefty, thick platter.)
