Description

British psychedelic rock band, Velvett Fogg, released thieir eponymous album in 1969 on the Pye Label. It features some of their own material and some psychedelic cover versions of some of their favourite songs including the Bee Gees 'New York Mining Disaster 1941' and Tim Rose's 'Come Away Melinda'. I bought the album shortly after its release and have looked after it well over the years. The group had various personnel changes and disbanded after the release of the album. One of the original members of the group was Toni Lommi who went on to Black Sabbath.

The record is in excellent condition and the vinyl is virtually unmarked. I recorded the album to tape shortly after purchase and often played the tape rather than the album - hence its nearly new condition. It plays very well with superb sound and with no skipping or jumping and there seems to be hardly any surface noise or sound deterioration after all these years. The record has been stored vertically in a record cabinet alongside other LPs all its life.

The front cover is in excellent condition. It is very clean and has just the odd crease mark in the lamination near the spine where the cardboard has flexed over the years. The spine itself is virtually crease free, unmarked and clearly legible. The back cover is likewise in excellent condition. On the back there is a long write up about Velvett Fogg, the album and the tracks by John Peel (he signs off at the end "Love and Peace, Johnn Peell)

The album comes with its original lined inner sleeve which has no folds,splits or tears.
