Description

On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Velvet Underground called 'Velvet Underground' and is a 1969 UK 1st pressing on the 1st Press MGM label!!!! THIS IS A SERIOUSLY RARE LP AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AS A 1ST PRESSING!!!!  LATER RE-ISSUES TURN UP OCCASSIONALLY - BUT GENIUNE 1969 1ST PRESSINGS VIRTUALLY NEVER DO!!!!  AND IT IS EXTREMELY ESSENTIAL TO OWN THIS LP AS A 1ST PRESSING AS IT HAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MIX TO ALL LATER PRESSINGS!!!!  NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION AND IS ONE OF THE BEST CONDITIONED 1ST PRESSINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN (MOST 1ST PRESSINGS THAT TURN UP ARE USUALLY TRASHED)!!!!  THIS IS THE 1969 UK 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS MGM LABEL, 'SOLD IN THE UK' TEXT, 1ST PRESS 'PATENTS APPLIED FOR' INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS FLIPBACK LAMINATED 'GARROD & LOFTHOUSE' COVER!!!!  IT IS ALSO VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS IS THE 1ST PRESS COVER TOO - AS IT HAS THE 'HORIZONTAL SPLIT PICTURE' ON THE REAR OF COVER (LATER ONES OF COURSE WERE 'VERTICAL')!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AS A 1ST PRESSING - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the ORIGINAL MGM UK 1st pressing from 1969 and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is MGM CS 8108 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press MGM Label (see picture) and is a UK Stereo 1st pressing (there were NO Monos)!!!!

The record labels are in BRILLIANT condition (see pictures) with NO wear, only a VERY small set of initials to either label, and only a VERY few light spindle marks!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASNT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, 1 TINY hairline, only 2 or 3 MEGA light wispy hairline traces (only visible under EXTREME light), and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!! It is great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, only 3 or 4 light clicks in the VERY last few revolutions of the last track on Side 2 'Afterhours', NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!!!! The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!!  The record must grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press 'patents applied for' plain white inner sleeve!!!! The 1st Press Flipback Laminated Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking), STUNNING shiny laminate, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the unlaminated back is in STUNNING condition with NO grubbyness, NO rubbing AT ALL, NO ringwear, and NO yellowing!!!!  The only minor detail on this cover to mention is the spine.  Two thirds of the spine from the bottom upwards is PERFECT and ALL the side words can be read PERFECTLY!!!!  There is some slight roughening towards the top of spine - though this is NOT through the colour and there are NO splits, NO rips, NO tears and NO deep 'fluffy' wear!!!!!  And as I said before the colour is unaffected and on a dark coloured cover like this it is VERY unnoticeable indeed!!!!  Just look at the pictures of the cover!!!!  It is SERIOUSLY rare in this condition!!!!  And it is so impressive to look at a FLAT and SHINY cover front of this LP!!!!  Usually on this LP the laminated cover front has many creases, or at the very least 3 or 4 half moon types.  But this LP cover front has NO half moon creases AT ALL, NO creases across the cover, and NO creases that lift the laminate!!!!  In fact there is NO laminate lifting ANYWHERE!!!! Just a STUNNING flat shiny cover front!!!!  This really is a BRILLIANT looking cover and MUST grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!

HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!! It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this MEGA RARE LP!!!! THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO BUY AN ORIGINAL 1969 UK 1ST PRESSING OF "VELVET UNDERGROUND" BY THE VELVET UNDERGROUND, IN BRILLIANT CONDITION!!!!  Dont forget to take a look at all my other items including many other TOP LPs and contact me with any queries you may have.
