THE ORIGINAL VERVE VELVET UNDERGROUND GATEFOLD LP with PEELABLE BANANA COVER FULLY INTACT!!!
From the pioneer of Pop Art, Andy Warhol designer of the cover art & the album's producer, Nico's fabulous singing style, Tom Wilson who helped produce some of Bob Dylan & Frank Zappa's work, John Cale, Moe Tucker, Le Monte Young, Sterling Morrison & of course the infamous Lou Reed this incredible collaboration created one of the most important records of all time. It remains a marvel of ferocious eloquence, crude majesty & subversive accomplishment!! The LP was recorded in 1966 but not released until March1967. The gatefold sleeve & banana peel sticker label were short lived, appearing only for the first pressing & were sadly replaced to increase the old profit margin, to be replaced by the pink fruit sticker.
The condition overall is excellent!! A Strong VG!!! The vinyl is near mint & shines like new & the cover is devoid of puncholes, writing, seam splits. Only very very minimal wear. There is a very small crease at the bottom of the stem of the banana where someone started to take the advise of the written direction on the cover, Peel Slowly & See.
