Italy's Irma Records played a small but important role in keeping 90s acid jazz culture in rotation after the London boom years; the Acid Jazz Classics series, launched in the late 90s through the Irma CasaDiPrimordine and Irma Molto Jazz imprints, gathered key tracks from British and international artists into tidy, DJ-friendly compilations aimed at Mediterranean audiences discovering the sound for the first time. Acid Jazz Classics Vol 2, first released in 1999, continues that mission with a broad snapshot of the era, now reissued; it moves from Jamiroquai's 'Blow Your Mind' and Incognito's version of 'Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing' to Sade's 'Paradise (remix)' and Ronny Jordan's 'Come With Me', sketching the genre's blend of funk, soul and dancefloor polish.
