This is one of a number of vinyl albums and EPs -- some new and still-sealed, some rare -- that I am listing for auction.

This item is a very rare import vinyl LP pressing of the 1991 album entitled For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge by the band Van Halen.  This was the ninth album to be released by the band, and the third with Sammy Hagar on lead vocals.  This album features perhaps the best known VH song of the Van Hagar era, Right Now, as well as concert staple Poundcake.  This album is most famous, of course, for its famous acronym.  This pressing is from Korea, and this title – in any pressing on vinyl – is quite rare.  In any event, I am to this day not exactly sure whether it was Roth who quit or EVH who fired him in the first incarnation of VH, and it is equally unclear whether Hagar quit or was fired in 1996 when the topic of a compilation album surfaced.  Suffice it to say, these two very public fallings-out have spawned, over the last 20+ years, a soap opera of revolving band members.  It is also a fact that Eddie had asked Patty Smyth – of Scandal – originally to replace Roth, but was refused.  Given its release in 1991, it goes without saying that vinyl pressings of this title are quite rare.

The vinyl is in excellent to near-mint condition.  The cover is in excellent condition, as shown in the photo.

NOTE:  Sealed items are collectible because they are sealed.  Since I do not own a store, I cannot return items to the manufacturer.  Once opened, I cannot refund the purchase price in full because opening significantly affects its value. 

I do not use stock photos.  The photo shows the actual item up for auction.

NOTE:  Due to the present rules under Paypal, I can now ship internationally ONLY VIA PRIORITY MAIL.  If you are outside the US, Priority International is the standard shipping, due to the fact that under Paypal rules, delivery tracking must be included on EVERY package outside the US.  The cost depends upon the weight and the country of destination.  I will provide the cost for each option in my post-auction invoice (and, again, I can provide the info during the auction, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of records).  To Canada, it will be $21.50USD for one LP.  To most other countries, it will be about $29.50USD for one LP.  I recognize that this will result in much higher shipping costs and I apologize for this change, but it is necessary under the Paypal rules now in effect. I am not a dealer, and all of the items I place up for auction are from my personal collection gathered over the past forty years (education expenses – and soon-to-be college expenses -- are the reason I am selling my collection...). 

The shipping costs are as follows: $4.00 for one LP via media mail to anywhere in the U.S.   Each additional LP is an additional $0.40 for media mail shipping.  Priority shipping within the U.S. is a function of weight and postal zone, and I will e-mail an invoice indicating the cost of priority (I can also provide this info while the auction is pending, if you e-mail me your zip code and the number of LPs). 

Insurance through the USPS is available, and once again my invoice will provide the cost information. 

NOTE – there is no tracking of packages through the USPS without delivery confirmation.  If you would like tracking ability, you must purchase delivery confirmation for $0.75. 

International Buyers – Please Note:

·         Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.

·         Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

·         These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

·         We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.

I will always combine items, so that your shipping costs will be more manageable.  Payment may be made by paypal.  If I do not receive payment for an item within fifteen (15) days of the end of the auction and I do not hear from you in response to e-mails, I will consider the auction results void and relist the item(s) for auction.
