Description

Originally issued in 1968. This has the original catalogue number pressed in the runout groove of CSL-8013, but this issue is pressed in Jamaica with the black and white Studio One label and comes in the original sleeve with manufactured by Coxsone Records Neasden Lane on it and recorded by Jamaica Recording Studio Kingston. So I am assuming that this is the Jamaican version of the record which was issued in the UK on the blue Coxsone label. It's certainly not the repress from the USA which had the orange and red Studio One label. I can't find any info on this version anywhere so I am assuming my info is correct. The vinyl looks in good condition with some manufacturing dimples in it. The cover shows some wear and tear and has a couple of stains on, see picture, this is not the version of the cover that was made in the UK with the flip back, but a flat back made in Jamaica.  The record plays with the usual surface noise that you would expect from a Jamaican Studio One pressing, it's there but doesn't spoil the music. Rodigan used to refer to it as " Frying tonight " This is a great LP for lovers of the all too short lived Rock Steady era, but the rhythms have been versioned right up to the present day. I bought this second hand from Music And Video exchange and they graded it as good, I'd say it was good ++.
