Used LED ZEPPELIN "II" Vinyl LP

• You are bidding on one used copy of the LED ZEPPELIN stereo vinyl LP "II." This is NOT an original release; the original album was released in 1969. This is an Original Master Recording release manufactured by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) in 1982. Produced by Jimmy Page. Engineered by Edwin H. Kramer.

• The LP and jacket is considered USED but is in excellent condition. (See grading legend below). The disc is graded Mint and is not warped; there are no visible marks on either side. We believe the disc may be unplayed. The jacket is VG+; there is no ring wear, but there are some light surface scuffs on the back. There are a dozen deeper scuffs on the left front cover. There is also some light edge wear, a small crush on one corner, and a 2 inch split on the bottom edge. There is no damage to the inner gatefold artwork. The inner sleeve is acid-free plastic in a white insert. The pictures below are of the actual item.

• MFSL was a California-based company that specialized in high quality reissues of key, often highly successful, popular albums. The original MFSL went out of business in 1999. MFSL has returned, but this LP is no longer offered (according to their website).

• AllMusic Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine:
  Recorded quickly during Led Zeppelin's first American tours, Led Zeppelin II provided the blueprint for all the heavy metal bands that followed it. Since the group could only enter the studio for brief amounts of time, most of the songs that compose II are reworked blues and rock & roll standards that the band was performing on-stage at the time. Not only did the short amount of time result in a lack of original material, it made the sound more direct. Jimmy Page still provided layers of guitar overdubs, but the overall sound of the album is heavy and hard, brutal and direct. "Whole Lotta Love," "The Lemon Song," and "Bring It on Home" are all based on classic blues songs -- only, the riffs are simpler and louder and each song has an extended section for instrumental solos. Of the remaining six songs, two sport light acoustic touches ("Thank You," "Ramble On"), but the other four are straight-ahead heavy rock that follows the formula of the revamped blues songs. While Led Zeppelin II doesn't have the eclecticism of the group's debut, it's arguably more influential. After all, nearly every one of the hundreds of Zeppelin imitators used this record, with its lack of dynamics and its pummeling riffs, as a blueprint.

• To protect this collectible recording, this auction also includes the packaging necessary to ship a vinyl record. Included is a new cardboard container specifically designed for vinyl records. The record will be shipped in the original paper sleeve. The empty jacket will be shipped in a new plastic sleeve.

• M = Mint. In all but the rarest cases, still sealed. If we know that an open record has never been played, and the rating otherwise applies, it will be graded mint.
  
• NM = Near mint, or unplayed condition. Cover is near perfect, new looking, with no surface or ring wear.
  
• EX = Only slight signs of wear; very clean, only light surface marks which do not distract significantly from the sound. Cover has only slight surface wear and is still in nice collectible condition.
  
• VG+ = Evidence of play, with moderate surface wear and some minor noise - still plays well. Cover is solid with no breaks but may have minor surface wear or some ring wear.
  
• VG = Overall wear, but no skips or serious defects. May be somewhat noisy during quiet passages. Cover is worn, with considerable ring wear, and may have partially broken edges.
  
• VG- = Playable, but both the record and cover are well worn.
  
• G or G+ = Poor or Rough condition. Holefiller only!
