Description
Opened auction item, but still in shrink wrap!
Up for auction here is an ultra-rare 2-LP Michael Jackson radio special. I obtained this from a former radio station DJ who explained to me how this show would have aired: Basically, this is a promotional show put out after the "Thriller" album's amazing success, to spotlight Michael and his talent. It is a mixture of narration; of michael speaking about his history and career; it includes early Jackson 5 music, Michael's solo music, input from prominent musicians and perhaps best of all, it includes all of the commercials, from Atari to Noxzema.
It is contained within an official ABC Spotlight Specials box, and also included is an official folder that contains correspondence from ABC to the program manager, along with promotional photos; ad slicks, and sample newspaper advertisements for the local ABC affiliate stations to use to advertise that they were going to air a Michael Jackson special. There is also a "cue sheet" packet to help the DJ to know what to anticipate as the records were playing. All of this folder appears to be complete and untouched.
The records appeared unplayed. I played through each side once last night to make sure they sound as good as they look in the photos, and they did sound great. There were very few pops and they were quiet; it is probably dust though I can't say for sure. This is a great-sounding set.
This item has been described as well as possible, as openly as possible, but it is a vinyl LP set and your ears may hear things that mine do not. Let me state again, that the vinyl appeared unplayed before I listened to it last night. I have a nice HI-FI set and treat my records with care. But since it is vinyl and people can be extremely picky, this auction is as-is, with no returns. I am almost certain, however, that you will not be disappointed. Check my feedback to see what I mean. I am honest and I know how to ship my items, and furthermore I've listened to the records and they are very cool!
This item will be shipped in its white box, bubble wrapped and inside a larger box, with peanuts. The records have always been stored in, and will be shipped in, vinyl sleeves. Buyer pays flat $10.00 shipping for USPS Priority Mail to the 48 states, international shipping will be actual shipping of the method of your choice. I almost always ship within 48 hours and my communication is great. Shipping insurance is highly recommended.
