Ultra Scarce Led Zepplin Communication Breakdown UK Promo 7” Holy Grail E/NM.
Single itself is in amazing condition, visually and audibly
In my opinion I have graded it as excellent to near mint as there are one or two very slight minor surface marks from storage which do not affect the sound quality
It appears the Matrix numbers were mistakenly stamped on the wrong side, with B//1 being on the A-side and A//1 being on the B-side. These have been crossed out by hand and hand etched to be corrected (pictured) when it was originally pressed
The corrected matrix numbers are:
584269 A//1
584269 B//1
Considered by some to be the Holy Grail of Led Zepplin singles, the single was scheduled for release in 1969, but having a last minute change of heart , the single was pulled before it was pressed leaving only a few ‘for promotion use only’ copies out there making this one of the rarest and most desirable Led Zepplin singles
Backstory:
Back in the 60’s/70’s my grandad used to own some land near Polydor’s London offices. Parking being as it is in London, he used to let some of the executives/producers park there in exchange for records. He never really was into music so therefor they were securely boxed and left under the bed, unplayed.
I believe it to be in its original plain white sleeve with my Grandads surname written in blue ink (presuming so it went to the right person)
Incredibly scarce, especially in this condition!
