Here yet another from my personal collection of over 50,000 albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! Please note: This album is listed for its rarety rather than for its condition. It is noted that there is general light wear and tear and some defects but is totally complete.  Absolutely awesome audio with no nasty constant loud clicks or pops. Earliest "1"to"1" Mother stampers for the best audio on vinyl! Note: Isolated static ticks/pops noted only, no distortion and extremely clear and vibrant throughout. Very hard to find after 46 years!  very very scarce and rare to find originals like this!  Unbeleivable for 46 years old and original like this!Please note! A-1U and B-2U matrix endings! Please do not underestemate the rarety of this album. Complete with original 1st UK press, UK issued Robor printed UK Mirror cover and lyric inner record sleeve! (Defects noted: Some light wear and tear with age noted a feint name on the rear of the cover and a tear noted at the opening edge of the record sleeve and a tear on the front of the label side one.) Overall a very collectable, enjoyable and playable copy to own! All indications are that this has barely been played in my opinion, Clear and vibrant throughout!

Look at Yourself is the third album released by British rock band Uriah Heep!

The title track and "July Morning" were released as singles in North America in 1971 and 1973, respectively!

The original cover art (not pictured opposite) was innovative, the LP coming in a single sleeve with a die-cut opening on the front through which a reflective foil 'mirror' was seen.

This relates the cover art directly to the album title. The idea was that of guitarist Mick Box.

Not being a perfect reflecting surface, one sees a distorted image of oneself. Indeed, this theme is carried on with the band photos on the rear of the LP sleeve, which have also been distorted.

The band identifies with the listener and vice versa!

The LP itself was housed in a heavy-duty card inner, complete with lyrics!

The song "July Morning" has become the inspiration for a Bulgarian Hippie tradition, known eponymously as July Morning!

The Vinyl

This lays perfectly flat on the turntable!! Important note! This is the original heavy and thick type of vinyl with deeper grooves,only found on the earliest pressings!!!,, (later press were much more flimsier and less robust)

Any marks that could possibly be seen under a strong light would be sleeve removal scuff type/ tiny scratches/grazes only!  (no) needle scratches or audio sounding marks on this vinyl that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops!

The Audio Quality

I have played this through prior to listing at very loud volume on a top system! This audio is awesome clear and very vibrant, only found like this with the earliest mother stampers like this one! Top Top on all frequencies! (no) loud constant clicks or pops cristal clear and vibrant!, with no signs of any distortion what so ever and definatly no signs that this has been over played at all! In fact in my opinion this has barely ever been played at all! Note: There are isolated static type ticks/pop heard in some places worth to mention but no distortion and no sighns that this has been over played at all, in fact all indications are that this has barely been played in my opinion.   The audio's clarity and vibrancy will be very hard to surpass, rich deep, bassey feel only found on the earliest pressings!!! compared to later press this audio can't be touched! look 1u 1st matrix and '1' to '1'MOTHERS MEGA RARE!

Audio graded at least better than excellent to Excellent plus  for the most part in my opinion! (Very light isolated static background ticks/pops noted)

Please note! i always add this disclaimer, Please allow for light isolated  static/tick/ticks/pops (not) consistant throughout the audio perhapes heard during some quiet places please remember that this is a genuine 46 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 46 year old system!

Points to note! This has been stored laying dormant in a case for at least 40 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves cause static crackle\ticks. A constant clean before each play is recomended! this would reduce this static and enhance the audio quality!

The labels

These are the original Bronze labels! Please note the 1sland cat. no ILPS-9169 (only 1st uk press) Later press carry the bronze cat no.! please note! I can barely see just minimal spider traces only , in fact barely a handful only. Unbeleivable 46 years old! Note: There is a tare on side one label where a sticker has been removed.

The record sleeve

This is the original 1st press thick lyric sleeve. Note: There is a tear at the front top opening edge where tape has been used as a repair on the inside. Light browning/creases only. The edges are fragile and begining to split.  The vinyl is now always stored seperately from the sleeve and cover. This is how I always store my records.

The Cover

This is the original and rare UK Press Robor Printed UK press mirror cover unlaminated mega impossible to find in good condition without the mirror frame been damaged. There is amaizingly no real nasty creases or splits/tears to talk of. Note light crease lines at the edges to mention. light general storageware in the form of light rubbing on the front and rear and at the edges, very small tear at the rear opening edge to mention. Creases noted at the spine but all text is readable. Light surface scratches noted on the mirror but the frame has not split or torn which is usually seen on these. The mirror is not stuck and is loose (correct for this early UK issue) Note: There is a feint name written at the rear and an attempt the rub the name off is noted. Hard to find originals in this condition, normally seen in very poor state. This must be graded at excellent in my opinion!
