Here yet another from my personal collection of over 50,000 albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! Please note: This album is listed for its rarety rather than for its condition. It is noted that there is general light wear and tear but is totally complete.  Absolutely awesome audio with no nasty constant loud clicks or pops, very very scarce and rare to find originals like this!  Unbeleivable for 46 years old and original like this!Please note! It is rare and scarce to see this album with both Earliest A-1U and B-1U matrix endings! There are many that I have seen with the more common A-1U and B-2U Please do not underestemate the rarety of this album. Complete with original 1st UK press, 1st issue E.J.Day & Co printed UK Mirror cover and lyric inner record sleeve!

Look at Yourself is the third album released by British rock band Uriah Heep!

The title track and "July Morning" were released as singles in North America in 1971 and 1973, respectively!

The original cover art (not pictured opposite) was innovative, the LP coming in a single sleeve with a die-cut opening on the front through which a reflective foil 'mirror' was seen.

This relates the cover art directly to the album title. The idea was that of guitarist Mick Box.

Not being a perfect reflecting surface, one sees a distorted image of oneself. Indeed, this theme is carried on with the band photos on the rear of the LP sleeve, which have also been distorted.

The band identifies with the listener and vice versa!

The LP itself was housed in a heavy-duty card inner, complete with lyrics!

The song "July Morning" has become the inspiration for a Bulgarian Hippie tradition, known eponymously as July Morning!

The Vinyl

This lays perfectly flat on the turntable!! Important note! This is the original heavy and thick type of vinyl with deeper grooves,only found on 1st pressings!!!,, (later press were much more flimsier and less robust)

Any marks that could possibly be seen under a strong light would be sleeve removal scuff type/scratches/grazes only!  (no) needle scratches or audio sounding marks on this vinyl that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops!

The Audio Quality

I have played this through prior to listing at very loud volume on a top system! This audio is awesome 'One of the best that i have heard ' Top Top on all frequencies! (no) loud constant clicks or pops cristal clear and vibrant!, with no signs of any distortion what so ever and definatly no signs that this has been over played! In fact in my opinion this has barely ever been played at all! Note: To be critical very,very light isolated static type ticks may be heard in isolated quiet places or in between some tracks only on some systems.   The audio will be very hard to surpass, rich deep, bassey feel only found on early 1st pressings!!! compared to later press this audio can't be touched! look 1u 1st matrix and '1'R' '2'R'MOTHERS MEGA RARE!

Audio graded at least excellent plus to very near mint for the most part in my opinion! (Very light isolated static background ticks noted)

Please note! i always add this disclaimer, Please allow for light isolated  static/tick/ticks (not) consistant throughout the audio perhapes heard during some quiet places please remember that this is a genuine 46 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 46 year old system!

Points to note! This has been stored laying dormant in a case for at least 40 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves cause static crackle\ticks. A constant clean before each play is recomended! this would reduce this static and enhance the audio quality!

The labels

These are the original Bronze labels! Please note the 1sland cat. no ILPS-9169 (only 1st uk press) Later press carry the bronze cat no.! please note! I can barely see just minimal spider traces only unbeleivable 46 years old!

The record sleeve

This is the original 1st press thick lyric sleeve in superbe condition. Amazingly no splits or tears. Light browning/creases only. The vinyl is now always stored seperately from the sleeve and cover. This is how I always store my records.

The Cover

This is the original and rare 1st UK Press E.J.Day & co Printed UK press mirror cover unlaminated mega impossible to find in good condition. There is amaizingly no real nasty creases or splits/tears to talk of. Note light crease lines at the edges to mention. light general storageware in the form of light rubbing on the front and rear and at the edges. Creases noted at the spine but all text is readable. Light surface scratches noted on the mirror but the frame has not split or torn which is usually seen on these. Hard to find originals in this condition, normally seen in very poor state. This must be graded at excellent in my opinion!

THIS ALBUM WILL BE SENT IN A LARGE BOX WITH CARDBOARD STIFFENERS THE ALBUM IS ALWAYS PUT IS A POLY SLEEVE AND ENCASED IN THE BOX WITH PLENTY OF BUBBLE WRAP FOR ADDED PROTECTION (SEE PHOTOS)
