No, it is not an urban myth!
There were test pressings run for the NEVER RELEASED
L7 "Omaha To Osaka" 10" !
...the record just never came out.
ONE OF TEN IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!
...and, this test pressing happens to have been pressed on CLEAR RED VINYL!!!
Every now and again, a test pressing would be run at the end of a vinyl run when there was leftover vinyl in the vats, sometimes resulting in a COLORED VINYL TEST PRESSING!
They are rare, and not "normal", as the record plant would have to "ok" this with the label.
Most labels would not choose to have test pressings on colored vinyl because most labels didn't press their records on colored vinyl!
