AN ULTRA RARE 78 FROM FRED ELIZALDE AND HIS VARSITY BAND
A beautiful copy of this rare 1927 British Jazz recording from Fred Elizalde and his Varsity Band
From wealthy Phillipino stock - music lovers Fred and Manuel (Lizz) Elizalde came here to Cambridge to get their education in the mid 1920's! They fell in love with England and by May 1927 Fred Elizalde was recording with his "Cambridge Undergraduates" band in London.
These two sides were recorded in May 1927 A few months before before Fred sent his brother "Lizz" over to the States to return with some Top US Jazz musicians to form his famous Anglo-American Band.
