Mobile Fidelity's highest quality UHQR (Ultra High Quality Recording). Produced in limited quantities of 5,000 and pressed by the JVC Company of Japan on 200 gram Super Vinyl. Contains a Technical Specifications Manual but is missing the Certificate of Authenticity. Packaged in foam-lined box, this is the audiophile's holy grail - it gets NO BETTER than this!

Box is in great shape... very light wear. The sides are rigid and corners sharp. Vinyl is like new and plays beautifully.

Review: TEA FOR THE TILLERMAN is one of Cat Stevens' finest albums, and a gem in the crown of early 1970s singer/songwriterdom. Stevens manages to have his cake and eat it too, simultaneously achieving pop accessibility and artistic relevance. While inviting rhythms (buoyed by Stevens's dynamic acoustic strumming) and pop hooks abound, the feel is decidedly gentle and spare. Apart from the occasional string section, Stevens is accompanied only by a three-piece band as he sings his introspective lyrics with appreciable fervor.While there are some relatively conventional love songs here ("Hard Headed Woman," "Wild World"), the most memorable moments come when Stevens's lyrics venture further afield. "Father and Son" is a poignant but realistic and unsentimental portrait of the generation gap, capable of reducing any given dad or junior to tears. "On the Road to Find Out" and "But I Might Die Tonight" reflect Stevens's existential dilemmas, and the resulting spiritual quest that would later lead him to embrace the Islamic faith. The graceful beauty of arrangements, performances, and songs makes TEA FOR THE TILLERMAN a folk-rock classic.

About Mobile Fidelity's MHQR Releases: In addition to the regular-weight LP releases and box sets, MFSL also released eight UHQR (Ultra High Quality Record) titles on LP. Each was a single-record box set limited to 5000 copies and individually numbered. UHQRs were pressed on heavy-weight (200 gram) "virgin" vinyl and pressed on the master stamper, also at JVC in Japan. The profile is essentially flat which far preceded the hoopla that surrounded Classic Record's 200gm flat pressings.
