SOME USEFUL INFORMATIONS:with no doubt "IN CONCERT No 295" is the rarest and most collectable U2 radio show,and the only one to originate from the UK.For this reason,it's not surprising that this recording has been heavly bootlegged,and the actual transcription disc itself has also been counterfeited.The fake BBC sleeves are deceptively similar to the real thing,but the labels give the game away,substituting the distinctive green&white originals for a cheap black&white option. U2's 1982 Hammersmith gig was repeated on American Radio in 1983 and 1984:both broadcasts were distributed by the company as "BBC ROCK HOUR",with commercials and cue sheets.The first of these,"LONDON WAVELENGHT SHOW N.410,was aired on 6th MArch 1983,while SHOW N.511 went out on 11th of MArch 1984.The adverts on each disc are different.ALso broadcast in 1983 (in the week beginning 27th MArch)was a London Wavelenght "BBC COLLEGE CONCERT",including the same material as its two"Rock Hour"counterparts.
If you want to know how the "Hammersmith 1982 Concert" was later aired on more radio shows, i suggest to read a copy of Record Collector February 1984 issue,where i was enough proud to write a 6-pages article called "U2 ON AIR" featuring deep infos on the U2's top 30 radio shows (at that time)
