This is U2's second single, from 1980 and was released only in Ireland. The original release, as many of you will know, is unique in that it has a special UKTM number printed on the sunburst label. Note that many later re-issues also had a sunburst label but will not have that special UKTM number - the one I am selling in this auction does. Some of these first issue singles also came with a postcard so, I am giving away, just for fun please note, an exact replica (taken from scans of an original) of this postcard.
The condition of the vinyl and cover are excellent.
NOTE: The postcard is just a replica of the original - it is NOT the genuine postcard! I have just included it as a fun freebie.
Please excuse the bad photo, my digital camera cannot cope with close-ups very well.
IMPORTANT NOTE: As I've said the postcard is a replica but it has been reproduced from an actual scan of an original - both sides. The front features an early photograph of the band and the rear has cartoon doodles by Bono. I want to make it clear though that this postcard is only a replica but that the single I am selling is the first issue with UKTM number.
All my vinyl is posted in brand-new, stiffened record mailers.

Well, I can't really argue with that and, considering that there is reckoned to be only about 250 of the genuine thing in existence, it's not my intention to be bringing fake U2 memorabillia into the world. So, I'm going to print, in small letters and on the rear of the postcard, that it's a replica.
Just to remind you however that this applies only to the postcard - the single and its sleeve are absolutely genuine.
