Description
Awake is the album where Tycho became a band. Scott Hansen's second LP for Ghostly International, originally released in 2014, marked the leap from ambient solo project to full-band post-rock, with Zac Brown on guitars and bass and Rory O'Connor on drums bringing a new energy and precision to Hansen's sun-soaked soundscapes.
The result is immersive and kinetic. "Montana" builds from a quiet pulse into one of the most exhilarating instrumental tracks of the decade, while "Apogee" drifts through layers of warm synths and interlocking guitars. Every track flows seamlessly into the next, creating a single 40-minute journey that rewards start-to-finish listening.
This 10th Anniversary Edition is pressed on blue and beige color vinyl, a fitting tribute to a record that helped define the sound of modern ambient and electronic music. Add it to your collection.
