Description
This is the original MONO vinyl LP by The Beatles titled "Introducing The Beatles", released in February 1964 by Vee-Jay Records with catalog number LP 1062. This album has a long colorful history of litigation between Vee-Jay and Capitol Records, resulting in various versions of the album. This copy is "Version Two" with a "column back" and with "Love Me Do" and "P.S I Love You" replaced with "Ask Me Why" and "Please, Please Me" -- due to issues of publishing rights. This album represents a limited run of mono albums with the Vee-Jay brackets label.
I am the original owner of this album, which means I purchased it, ugh, 60 years ago! Over this time, it has been stored in an upright position in a smoke-free and temperature-controlled environment (my record collection "closet"). I didn't play this record much once "Meet the Beatles" came out and therefore, it is in remarkable condition. I graded the cover as "good" due to the crease in the lower left corner. Other than that, the cover shows signs of only minimal normal wear and tear.
This album has been play tested (see photos) and, amazingly, has limited crackles and pops. However, I noticed when playing side one that Paul's countdown of "1-2-3-4" at the beginning of "I Saw Her Standing There" begins at "4." There is no indication that the tone arm is skipping. For this reason, I give the record a conservative grade of Good+ when it actually plays much better. Please see photos for overall condition. Send any questions my way.
