Description
Here for auction is an original UK Decca test pressing of Rosalyn Tureck playing the "The Well Tempered Clavier, Books 1 & 2" by J.S Bach, issued in he 1950's on the "Brunswick" label, AXTL 1036/41.....The records come in two boxes of three discs each.
This set is an ex UK library copy and has some stamps inside box and on label's which I will describe.
Vinyl's. All discs are VG+....With quite a number of small, soft marks....In all the parts I played there were no repetetive tics to speak of though.....And their sound is clear and undistorted, although there is some general lightish crackle over all the discs.....Although all discs have been cleaned, I think they will improve with a bit more cleaning reducing this crackle (which even now is not so bad).....The middle discs of both set one and set two have pressing flaws which make the record arm move in and out on the opening tracks each side, and this gives low sounding "whoosh" over the first track on both sides,on both discs! It is noticeable, but not too bad, as it's low in frequency and a fairly gentle sound.
Box and Booklet are in VG condition.Box has no library markings on outside.Inside there are some stamps on inside left panel.Both boxes are split and not in that great condition.They are clean and not grubby though.All can be seen in photo's.
Inner sleeves are plastic library one's and not original.
Label's .All label's free of markings or sticker's.Very nice condition with handwritten information/track listings.One label has a light watermark.
